I Make America’s “Counting on You” TV ad has won a 2018 Telly Award for “best Political Issues/Campaign Advertising.”

The Telly Awards honors excellence in local, regional and cable television commercials. Receiving more than 12,000 entries from all 50 states and five continents, they represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, televisions stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.

During the two-week run, “Counting on You“ was viewed by more than 1.1 million households in the D.C. media market and the campaign was covered by The Wall Street Journal, along with multiple stories in Politico, The Hill, Agri-Pulse, and Inside U.S. Trade.

“This win is the result of a great team effort by the entire I Make America team,” said Kip Eideberg, AEM’s vice president of public affairs and advocacy. “I would like to especially thank Jerry Johnson and Angela Larson of Blount International/Woods Equipment for opening up their facility and helping us advocate against tariffs that will harm U.S. equipment manufacturers.”

AEM produced the 30-second ad to urge President Trump against acting to impose sweeping imports on steel and aluminum. The ad ran on “Fox & Friends,” “Morning Joe,” and “Hannity” (cable news shows President Trump is known to watch regularly) for several weeks. AEM continues to spearhead industry efforts to discourage the administration from imposing tariffs on steel, which will harm the equipment manufacturing industry and disrupt the entire global trading system.
